This ride is intended for riders who have experience of day rides. The pace will be about 10 mph with a riding time of about 4 hrs, covering 37 miles altogether. There will be a small amount of unpaved cycle track and the route is quite hilly with about 1900 feet of climbing.
The planned route will take us out into the Hertfordshire countryside via Potters Bar, from where we will head over to Essendon and then pick up the Cole Green Way into Hertford. After a refreshment break in Hertford, we will continue over to Hoddesdon via Mangrove Road, and then back over to Ridge and finish the ride at Lewes’ ice cream farm on Galley Lane.
Riders should check their bikes before joining the ride to ensure that brakes are working and tyres are properly inflated.
Please also ensure that you bring a spare inner tube and a rain jacket.
