A loop from The Spires, Barnet, up to Hatfield for brunch, along the Alban Way, and back to Barnet via the ice cream cafe.
Meet 9:15 to leave 9:30 by the bandstand outside Waitrose, The Spires, Barnet, postcode EN5 5XY.
A 33 mile route via Shenley taking some of our favourite country lanes, with brunch at Harpsfield Hall, Hatfield, followed by a wander along the Alban Way, then a tea stop at the ice cream farm in Galley Lane, Barnet, where the ride will finish around 14:30 (optional mile back to the Spires).
The route is a mixture of quiet roads, well surfaced off road paths, and some busier road sections. This is an intermediate ride, suitable for those who cycle regularly who are used to hills and mixing with traffic as there are some busy roads. Moderate pace c.10 mph. Your bike should be in good working order, please check it before the ride and bring tools and tubes in case of punctures.
