Barnet – Rights of Way

Mark Sumner, the Rights of Way officer for Barnet Council, came to the April meeting. He is in the process of collating Rights of Way to be added to the Definitive Map. It is intended to publish a map on the council website in 3-4 months.

Mark would welcome input from the group to identify any paths/bridleways/tracks that we feel should be included that would be useful for cyclists in the borough. It might be that we are not sure of the legal status of some paths that we use and it would be useful to clarify their status. We said we would collate suggestions from the group and forward them to Mark.

Please send any suggestions to alison.ewington@ntlworld.com . Give enough detail so any path/bridleway/track can be identified easily on a map. It would be useful to have any info on why it would be useful to be included ie avoiding a difficult junction, provides a good route to shops/schools. All need to be within Barnet – but they could be links to routes in Herts or other boroughs.
