The plan is to head to Hatfield for lunch (Wetherspoons – Harpsfield Hall) – weather permitting. Wrap up and head out on your bike for a few hours. Please bring reflective gear and lights and a spare inner tube for your bike.

First ride of the New Year – start it off on the right pedal and work off the mince pies.

SATURDAY 23rd December – CENTRAL LONDON CTC RIDE

Not an official LCC ride, but Charles Harvey has invited any Barnet Cyclists to join him:

Beer and Bunyan.  Ride to visit Farr Brew, a new brewery near Wheathampstead. Short tour of the brewery and a pint (either to drink on the spot or take away in a bottle) for £5. Lunch at the nearby John Bunyan pub situated near the remains of a cottage associated with John Bunyan. If time and the light permits, a tea stop en route back to St Albans. Meet St Albans City railway station at 10am.

Ride: Sunday 10th December

THE ‘deck the bikes – with boughs of holly – or with anything you like’ RIDE

A ride round the lanes of south Herts, with a stop for coffee along the way at the Dutch Nursery, before heading off to our Christmas Lunch. (2.30pm at Alexander’s, Russell Lane for those that have booked in advance. Last day to book is 30 Nov.). As it is the season to be jolly, decorate your bike and/or yourself in tinsel, lights and baubles. Stupendous prizes!

All welcome on the ride even if you aren’t coming to the lunch.

Nothing planned ahead – head off wherever the group decides.  Turn up early for a coffee and talk about where you want to go.  Group will be ready to leave at 10am.

A ride to the historic town of Hertford. There are a couple of hills on route. No one left behind. Bring lights.

Sunday 15th October: SUNDAY RIDE: Shenley Apple Day

After a ride round the lanes and lunch, we will call at Shenley Orchard where they are holding an ‘Apple Day’ in the walled garden (small entrance charge). A wide range of locally grown apples can be bought alongside other local produce. Tea and cake available.
If apples are not for you, the main tea room will be open as usual.

Sunday 29th October (NOT A BC RIDE)

If you missed or want to repeat our Easter Sunday ride to the Museum of Docklands, I’m repeating it for Central London CTC. The details are: A short urban ride to the Museum of Docklands. Riding out from Pancras Road on CS3. Plenty of time at the museum and lunch either at the museum’s own cafe or in the Ledger Building (a Wetherspoons pub) next door. Return on the “scenic route” following the Thames.
Meet 11.00am on Pancras Road between Kings Cross and St Pancras stations, near the German Gymnasium.
