Saturday 27 September: Urban Hill Climb

The only hill climb event in Greater London, UHC offers riders the chance to test themselves against Swain’s Lane, Highgate N6 6DU

For many attempting the climb, it’s not so much about the time you set getting up the hill, but simply making it up, having been spurred on by the sounds of cow bells, pot and pans, and blow horns.

Anyone with a bike and a bit of nerve can conquer Swain’s, from the young novices to the hill climbing veterans…

Bookings to take part are now open.

LCC Barnet Rides Co-ordinator

We are looking for a volunteer to revive local organised rides for the group. There is a need to encourage those who may be new or returning to group riding. Maybe you would like to organise family rides? There are also special event days (such as Car Free Day on 22 September) where there is the opportunity to organise larger events – maybe in conjunction with the Council. Rides would be run under the guidance of the LCC and conform to their Risk Assessment policy.

If you are interested, please reply to this post with your contact details.

LCC ‘DARE TO DREAM’ CAMPAIGN

Please take one minute today to support LCC’s new campaign asking Sadiq Khan to ‘Dare To Dream’ bigger, be bolder, and move faster on cycling.

Sadiq’s first two terms were great for getting more Londoners out on a bike, but right now, when he could be delivering big change, he seems to have gone soft on cycling.

So with that in mind, we’re asking the Mayor to commit to four big, bold ideas that would leave a lasting legacy for London and really get more of us cycling across the capital.

-Start monthly car-free Sundays across London
-Make cycling safe for families in outer London
-Make a bike available for every Londoner
-Give London a low-traffic West End

Take a minute and email the Mayor to call on him to Dare To Dream bigger today…
