Barnet Cycling Campaign – building a better biking borough – part of London Cycling Campaign
The following items are being offered for sale:
Orbea man’s road bike in good condition, which comes with a lock, front pannier and clip peddles. £100 or near offer.
The second item is an indoor exercise stand for a bike. £10.

The London Cycling Campaign is calling on our members and supporters to take on a challenge and Cycle For London. You can take part on your own, as a family, a group of friends, or your whole cycling club could take on a joint challenge.
We’ve seen immense progress in recent years, with more high quality schemes delivered than ever before. We must maintain this momentum to ensure everyone can access streets that work for people and planet.
Choose your distance, set up your profile and start clocking up the miles all to help raise vital funds to make cycling safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

Encouraging active and safer travel to school
Each school in Barnet has proposals for safer travel to schools. Barnet Council are running a survey on the Engage Barnet website. Details can be found here:

It is easy to take part – you can just look at the schools you have in your neighbourhood – or look at them all.
The closing date is officially today – 21st July – but it will probably remain open over the weekend. There is also an email address if you want to get it touch directly.
REMINDER-Thursday 20 July: Monthly Meeting – Summer inspiration!
After a bit of business and coffee, come and talk about rides for the summer – rides taken, rides planned, rides wished for. It will include a report from some of the members who went on the recent Forty Plus holiday to France. Come along with a few tales to tell – or to be looking for inspiration.
NB meeting is early this month due to Church Centre summer closure. Meetings resume 28 September

Head out via Galley Lane north through Ridge and Colney Heath. Return the same way mostly with a short loop at Colney Heath and arrive back at the Spires via Swanley Bar and Potters Bar.
Possible cafe stops at The Potting Shed near Sandridge and The Oakmere for coffee on the way back.
A good deal of straight road generally with some quick traffic but relatively flat with a few exceptions.
Pace the usual 10-11 mph average. Probably back by 3.30 or 4.00 pm. Route is approx. 37 miles.
This ride will be led by Peter King.

There will also be a chance to buy some select cycle items from former BC member Robert Sacks. Robert is downsizing and wants to find a good home for his bike-related items. Bring some money!

Looking for somewhere to cycle to this Sunday? Barnet Vale Festival is being held at Tudor Sports Ground, Clifford Road, Barnet EN5.
There is an “Eco Show and Tell” and a local bike repair shop has a stall.
The festival is on from 11-4 and includes music, food, chats and more. Free entry.
