Thursday 27 February – Meeting: Barnet Loop and Quick Wins

We will start the meeting at 8pm with a presentation from Alex Sexton of Barnet Council to update us on plans for the ‘Barnet Loop’ linking of cycle ways and the list of possible ‘Quick Wins’.  This is important, so do come along if you can. We will catch up on other local news after coffee.

19 November: Enfield Cycling Campaign online meeting: “20’s Plenty” 

Enfield Cycling Campaign and Better Streets for Enfield are hosting an online meeting from 8.00pm to 9.00pm on 19 November to discuss why and how Enfield could have more 20mph roads. Our guest speaker is Jeremy Leach from 20’s Plenty.

Thursday 28 November – Meeting: Bike technology – compare and contrast.

After the usual cycling business catch up and coffee break (with mince pies) – two of the group will look at changes in bike tech over the past 20 years or so looking at a traditional steel bike and one the latest models. A lot has changed – for good or bad? Think of it as the Antiques Roadshow meets Brave New World. Where are you on this spectrum?

…But that doesn’t stop a Barnet Cyclist from cycling in the winter. How do you keep dry and warm in the colder months? What do you wear – what can you recommend – or avoid? Sometimes the simple cheap tricks are the best. Do you change anything on the bike? Bring along any bits of kit to show and tell. Beforehand, we will have the usual round up of news and a chat over coffee.
