This year, to replace the central London Freecycle event, borough groups are being encouraged to organise local events. Plans are uncertain as yet, but there may be an event based in Barnet, or we may join in with the Enfield group. Details will be posted when known.
Women’s Freedom Ride – 6 February
The LCC Women’s Network is identifying parts of the TfL Cycleways network that aren’t safe after dark, especially for women. As part of the launch of the campaign, they’re organising a fun protest ride that will ‘highlight’ these parts of the network on Thursday, 6 February, meeting at 6.15pm at Marble Arch. For more info on the ride please see the event page – https://lcc.org.uk/events/womens-freedom-ride-after-dark/
They are looking for marshals. It is not mandatory to attend the training if you have already received marshal training or if you have lots of experience. But it is mandatory to attend the zoom call (22nd January) and the rehearsal ride on the 30th January. If you have any questions or can’t attend the zoom call on 22nd January or the rehearsal ride on the 30th January, please email mike.mcsherry@lcc.org.uk and the ride leader Mariam will consider what alternative arrangements can be made.
