Jon Crosby

Some, but not all of you will know that Jon had terminal cancer.  He
was diagnosed in May 2017 with terminal leiomyosarcoma (a lump in his
arm which had already spread to his lungs).  He kept cycling for a
long time, building himself an e-bike when this strength started
fading.  He also moved to do more cycle rights work, getting involved
with Barnet Cyclists and the LCC.  He was also largely responsible for
getting Hertfordshire to provide a safe crossing of the A414 near
Sacombe Park.

Jon deteriorated over recent weeks, was admitted to North London
Hospice on Sunday and died on Tuesday 16th.

Jon has done so much to actively promote cycling through his membership of several groups including ours. He was a tremendous support to the campaign group and was crucial to the redevelopment of our website.

  1. Thank you for this sad news. A small correction. The Sacombe project is on the A602 not the A414.

Once the cycle path is opened I will ride it and think of Jon. I know he was thrilled that we got this done.

    Best wishes
