Barnet Council is looking for 20 Barnet cyclists to volunteer for an innovative 1-month pilot project with Saddle Sense, starting in September 2026.
As a participant, you’ll receive a free bike-mounted air quality sensor to use on your everyday journeys, plus access to the Saddle Sense app and dashboard. You’ll be able to see the air quality you experience along your routes, compare different journeys, and explore insights into your personal exposure to pollution while cycling in Barnet and beyond.
You’ll also have the opportunity to try clean-air routing through the app. Similar to Google Maps, this feature can suggest alternative routes to your destination with lower levels of air pollution.
By taking part, you’ll contribute towards building a real-time picture of air quality across Barnet, helping to identify pollution hotspots and test cleaner route options across the borough.
