Thursday 25th OCTOBER MONTHLY MEETING – How do we get bums on saddles?

CORRECTION TO EMAIL SENT EARLIER – THIS IS THE 25TH OCTOBER MEETING

After the normal ‘business’ meeting to catch up on what has been happening, we want to discuss how we, as a group and as individuals, get others cycling. We hope to have a contribution from a ‘Breeze’ ride leader. What are the barriers to getting our own friends and family out on a bike – and what practical things we can do to help. What advice can we offer on the website, on leaflets? What resources are available? Should we run a programme of ‘beginners’ rides?  Lots of questions – come along and help provide the answers.

All welcome.

Meet: 8pm Carey Hall, Trinity Church, 15 Nether Street, North Finchley N12 7NN

MEETING REMINDER Thursday 27th September – Planning a Barnet Cyclists’ Weekend

The indoor meetings are back! After the summer break, the monthly indoor meetings start again this coming Thursday. Hope to see you all there.

After the normal ‘business’ meeting to catch up on what has been happening over the weekend, and coffee, we will have a session on what is involved in planning our annual BC weekend jaunts. We will look at what we have done in the past – what works and what could be improved. And then we will look at what members would like to do for 2019. Ideas of where to go, what rides we need, who is going to volunteer etc

All welcome.

Meet: 8pm Carey Hall, Trinity Church, 15 Nether Street, North Finchley N12 7NN

HELP FUND BARNET CYCLISTS

Just hiring the hall for our monthly meetings costs more than the grant we get from “our parent” the London Cycling Campaign, and that is apart from the rides and campaigning we do. So normally we ask you to help by making a contribution in the spring, but this year the new data protection regs got in the way.

Belatedly we would now like to ask you to make your annual contribution to our group funds. If you are a full LCC member then about £4 would help. If you just associate with Barnet Cyclists and come on our rides or to our meetings, then a larger contribution of about £10 would be appreciated.

Ideally we would like you to pay by bank transfer (internet or phone banking) directly into our own account. It is “London Cycling Campaign Barnet Branch” sort code 60 83 01, a/c no. 20225687 and, vitally important, give your name as a reference.

But be assured if you would prefer to donate by cash or cheque we will still grab it. (Cheques to ‘Barnet Cyclists’ or the full a/c name as above)  If posting send to: Treasurer, Barnet Cyclists, 38 Glenwood Rd. NW7 4LJ)

So in anticipation – many thanks for your valued support.
